Trinny and Susannah

These lovely British ladies are my favorite thing this week. They have a new show "Trinny and Susannah Making Over America". They were the ones who started the original "What Not to Wear" on BBC. Then we got the American version of "What Not to Wear" with Stacy and Clinton. I have more eposides of that TiVo'd than I'd like to admit (and that my husband can stand!), but I love the show!

But, as much as I love the American version, I always missed the British version. Trinny and Susannah are just much more fun (and absolutely hilarious)! When I saw they came out with this show, I was so excited. And, the first episode did not disapont. The next episode is tonight and I can't wait! Now my TiVo will be filled with this AND "What Not to Wear". Sorry babe :)

Garden Veggies

I seriously hate it when the end of the summer is upon us. I will say though, my favorite thing about the second half of the summer is the vegetables from the garden! Don't be too impressed thinking I have a green thumb and am able to grow such wonderful veggies, I mooch them from others who do have the garden talent. Actually, I think Lance could probably grow anything he wanted so if it comes to that, I'll let you know how it goes. As it stands now, Lance's dad lives about a block away and has an incredible garden. His tomatoes are the best ever! He also grows cucumbers, spaghetti squash, zucchini, cantaloupe and pumpkins. And he's so sweet, if we're not over there every few days to get them, he brings them over to us! Now, that's service. We talked about starting a garden this year, but with his Dad's, there really wasn't a need. I hate to see good veggies go to waste :)

So, we have been enjoying homade guac and salsa, bacon and tomato sandwiches, (and well, fresh tomatoes on just about everything!!), grilled zucchini and soon to be fresh zucchini bread.

My cute friend Mia also grows peppers in her garden and gave me one of those too. YUM!

Does it really get any better than anything fresh from the garden?! And that's why it's today's favorite thing!

Zapper

Early in the Spring Lance and I were in Harbor Freight and I saw the coolest bug swatter/zapper thing. It looks like a little tennis raquet and it's electric so it fries the bugs when you hit them with it. Well, Lance just laughed at me when I said "that is the coolest thing ever!" so needless to say, we didn't get it. Fast forward a few months and we're at my dad's house for a BBQ. In his kitchen he has sitting the electric bug zapper. Man, I was jealous! He said it is Zachary's favorite thing...makes sense as to why I would like it too! All night Brig and I were searching for bugs to zap. I kid you not, all night. After that, I knew I had to have one. So, the next time we were at Harbor Freight we bought one...and it really is the coolest thing ever. And thus, my Favorite Thing Friday.

Even the kids love it. They were so excited when they saw we bought one. We spend a lot of time out on our patio and now I am okay with it when the pesky little flys and bugs come to disturb us because I get to zap them and watch them spark and pop. It's like a little bug firework show. I highly recommend it...simply to keep your outdoor activities insect free of course :)

The Big Apple

A few months ago I was asked to go to New York for a client sales presentation. The client said they would go with us as long as I would be their Relationship Manager. So we juggled some of my other clients around and made it work. The first week of July was the kick off meeting so I headed back to New York. However, this time I was smart and dragged Lance along with me :)

Funny thing...we thought we didn't have the camera the whole time so the first 3 days we didn't take any pictures. We were in the same restaurant as Morgan Freeman and we didn't have our camera. So SAD!! Then Lance looked in a small pocket in his bag and found it. I was so glad we had it, but so disappointed at all we missed.

Monday we had all day to walk around the city, go to Central Park and Canal Street. Tuesday I had to go to the client and it was Lance's birthday. Luckily it was only a half day meeting so I was back to the hotel around 2pm. We went to a great Sushi place for dinner, then went to see The Phantom of the Operah! It was so amazing! The next day I was at the client for another half day, then when I got back we walked around the city a bit more and went to a really cool and fun restaurant.

I also stayed in a much more central hotel this time right in Times Square! This is the view from our room. Times Square was crazy!!
We took a tour of Madison Square Garden...I hear it's the world's most famous arena :)
This is for Biff...can you guess whose locker it is?That's right, it's Chris Drury. He's on the hot athlete list...or so I am told.Next to the hockey locker room is the x-ray room. Smart.
This guy is definitely on the hot athlete list!!This is the actual scale the heavy weight champions weighed in on.Overall it was a much more fun trip because Lance was with me and it wasn't FREEZING cold like it was last time I went. Although I have to admit, New York just isn't really my pick for a vacation spot so it's nice when it's a business trip with time for some fun :)

Tide to Go

My favorite thing this week, and something I can't do without, is my Tide to Go pen! Really, have you tried these?! I was very skeptical at first like those shout wipes (which don't work at all!), but this little baby is the best! I carry one in my purse at all times and it really does take out all sorts of stains. Inevitably if I am wearing something white, I will spill on it at some point in the day. Usually very early in the day. But now that I have this, I don't have to worry. I honestly have not found a stain this does not instantly remove. So if you spill on yourself like me, or have kids, this is a must!

Birthday Boy!

Lance and I were in New York for his Birthday and I wasn't about to haul his presents with us so luckily I remembered to give them to him just as we were packing to leave the Sunday before his birthday.
This is fake enthusiasm...I just know it.
This is real because he is pulling an Ugg box out of the bag.And don't be fooled people, he loves Ugg's just as much as me...really.
And then we took the red eye to NYC!
