Poker

We went to dinner with some of our best friends, Becky and Lori and their boyfriends. After we came back to our house to play some poker. We had so much fun! Who knew that adults would love Miley Cyrus and Party in the USA, Black Eyed Peas and Tonight's Gonna be a Good Night SO much?! Well Lance and I thought it was just us, but we were wrong. We were rocking out as we played.

Lori and Casey

The girls! (Lori invited her friend Erin to come play with us too!)After poker we moved on to dance moves...Roundoffs...Handstands...A little wrestling...And of course...the robot! We had such a wonderful night and love our great friends!

GO UTES!!!

We just love our Utes and our season tickets to watch them play!

First game of the year. Nothing better than watching football in a t-shirt and shorts!
LOVE these guys!Seriously, she is the cutest thing ever. My New Years resolution for 2009 was to learn the entire Utah fight song (sad I don't know it). Well, I would have never made it without Hannah. I kid you not, she taught me the song. She is two years old, knows all the words and seriously made me learn it. If I didn't know a part I would ask her and she would tell me.Did I mention I LOVE her?Airforce game. I love the fly over!!
I especially love going to the games with my baby!
Well see ya next year, Utes!

After the home season ended, we watched the remaining games at home. Our bestest baker Shara made us cookies.

I love her (and her cookies) too!!!

Tanner's Birthday

I am so behind on blogging, but since I am getting to it, I am going back to the summer!

Tanner's birthday was July 21 and we had a great day. We went to dinner at his choice of restaurants (Olive Garden), then Zach came over and we had cake, ice cream and opened presents. He requested a Reeces ice cream cake so I made home made ice cream, and added it to the cake I made. It turned out really well!

We got some advice from the expert (Zach) on air soft guns because that's all Tanner wanted was a new one.Look at that vest, guns, etc. This kid is stocked and I love him so!Lance and his dad.Me and Lance's dad.
And me and my honey.
Happy Birthday Tanner!

Flag football

Lance's company participates in the corporate games each year and since he is good at ANY sport he attempts, he plays in all that he can. This year he did flag football and Tanner and I had a great time watching! He is definitely on the sexy quarterback list :)

Nickelback concert

As soon as we heard Nickelback was coming in concert, we knew we would be going. We bought tickets right away. It turned out they were coming with some of our all time favorite bands too. Saving Abel, Papa Roach and Hinder. What an awesome line up!

The concert was outide at USANA. We prefer the lawn seats so you can relax between the bands and there is just something about a concert on the grass. We got there really early so we had good seats too. Saving Abel was first and they were so awesome! They played most of my favorite songs from them.

Hinder made me so happy...I love them too.
See....sooooo happy :)Just as it got dark, Nickelback came out. They are always so good in concert and this time did not dissapoint.Chad was really funny in between the songs too! He was sharing drinks with the people in the front row and talking to the crowd, it was hilarious!Overall, it was a wonderful night! Can't wait for our next USANA concert!

Jax's Stocking

My favorite thing this week is the darling stocking Sarah made for Jax. He hisses at her whenever he sees her, but she still made him a stocking and gives him Christmas gifts. Now that's sweet :)

Christmas Music

When I was little I remember my dad playing Alabama's Christmas album every year at after Thanksgiving. I used to love hearing the familiar music year after year. As soon as I moved out, I had to get the CD for myself. It is one of my all time favorite Christmas albums. And it reminds me of my dad...and that's just tender :)

Another one of my favorites is Sarah McLachlan's Wintersong. This one has some great songs and reminds me of my mom. I told Lance the other day that I actually keep one of the songs on my ipod all year round because it is one of my all time favorite songs and doesn't actually mention Christmas. He still thought I was a dork :)
I have many, many favorite Christmas songs and albums, but these are definitely some of my classic favorites!

Perhaps a little childish...

It seems as all my ftf's lately have had to do one with another. It's not on purpose, but as I mentioned last week, I am always cold. Therefore, when I saw flannel sheets in the store, I had to buy them. Yes, you heard right, I have flannel sheets on my bed. Who knew they even made them for king beds? Good to know we are not the only couple out there with cute flannel sheets on our bed :) (They are really cute though, right?!)
But seriously, I am always freezing when everyone else is just fine and I hate getting into a cold bed. So, before I go to bed I turn on the fireplace in our room (another one of my favorite things btw), shut the door to create my own little sauna, then jump into my toasty warm bed. Flannel sheets, I love you and I don't care who knows it.

In keeping with the Season...

My favorite thing this week is anything pumpkin spice. I guess not anything, but lattes, cappuccinos and any drink that can be made pumpkin spice. I am always cold, so they are my favorite thing to warm me up. Lance is also hooked, it's great! No whipped cream though..just lots of foam. YUM!

I scream, you scream...

My Favorite Thing Friday is Dryer's ice cream. Any flavor really, but during the Holidays it's the limited edition Peppermint. Yum, I love peppermint ice cream and Dryers slow churned is the best ice cream out there.
Don't believe me? Come check my freezer...or all 3 of them. Yes, I have 3 and if I didn't I wouldn't have enough room for all my ice cream. And yes, it may be time for an intervention. :)

Sweet Potato Fries

Are my guilty pleasure...okay, one of my guilty pleasures. I love them and have to try them whenever I am somewhere that has them. Lucky for me, more restaurants are serving them these days. And, you can buy them in stores and make them at home! These are from Costco and are my favorite "home made" fries...and trust me, I have tried many. I would tell you all to go buy them because they are so delicious, but then you will and the Costco will discontinue them. Happens to me all the time!!

But really, you should buy them if you shop at Costco because they are amazing! But, if you want the best sweet potato fries ever...go to Rumbi. They are the best, hands down! Happy FTF!

A trip up the Canyon

A few weeks ago Lance and drove up Big Cottonwood Canyon to see the leaves.

It was beautiful! We drove up Gaurdsman's Pass where there was SNOW! I was not ready for that. This picture is at the very top.On the way down we stopped to take some more pictures and went across this little bridge. As we did, my Cookie Lee earring fell out and in between the slats. Really, what are the odds of that? It couldn't just land ON the bridge?!We were able to see it in the water, but it was way too deep to reach in get...So my Knight in Shining Armor went under the bridge with a stick to get it out. For regular folk this might not seem like a big deal, but well, Lance is TERRIFIED of earrings. Don't ask, I don't get it either, but he is. He won't pick them up for me, he can't stand it when I leave them on the bathroom counter and he definitely cannot watch me put them in or take them out. Unfortunately, he was unsucessful in pulling it out of the water (I think ultimately the thought of it grossed him out too much). So I took a try...And was able to fish it out! You may not be able to see it, but it's on the end of that stick...with some moss.
The whole thing was just really funny! I came home and soaked the earring in alcohol for a couple of days, but still haven't been able to wear it. Stream water is clean, right?!
