Incredible Fathers

I want to wish my Dad and Lance and Pa a very happy father's day!

I was seriously blessed with the best father in the world. He was and always has been such an incredible example and rock in my life. One of the only reasons I wanted to have a second wedding in Utah was so my dad could walk me down the isle...He has always been there to give me advice, but never lecture in my adult years. I always know he's there and would do absolutely anything for me. He only wants for me to be happy.

I feel so lucky that he's my dad and he taught me such valuable lessons and made me who I am. I am also very happy he gave me his love of shopping and style ;)

Dad, some of those days at the Heaton compound were the best ever! We all had so much fun together and I wouldn't trade that time for anything. I love you!


I could not be happier with the Father that Lance is either. Tevin and Tanner are the luckiest kids in the world to have him as a father. I know they don't know it now, but some day they will.
There is absolutely nothing he would not do for these kids. They are his number one in everything he does.
I think he would rather be with them doing absolutely nothing than anywhere else in the whole world. He doesn't ever want for them to be bored or unhappy and will at any second stop what he's doing to play with them.
He's so proud of them and loves nothing more than being their father. I wish I could have a dozen kids, just so they would get to have him as their father :)

And, I definitely cannot forget my wonderful father-in-law. He has been so great to me from the moment we were introduced. He is constantly showering me with compliments and brags to his friends about me when we see them. He did a spectacular job raising Lance, Rick and Cherise and has always been there for them, no matter what. He is an example to us all. He can often be found edging our front yard without us knowing or helping us with a project. And, he willingly takes care of Jax whenever we're out of town.
I don't know how I got so lucky, but I am :)

A Walk Down Memory Lane

A couple of years ago my Junior High almost completely burned down. I was at work downtown and could see the smoke coming up near Mt. Olympus. I thought it was really close to my mom's house and I was right. I was really quite sad when I found out what happened. I loved Jr. High and had some great memories at Wasatch.A little while ago, they completely finished the rebuild of the school and had an open house. Brig, Kenzie and I went. They had a little program and slide show at the beginning. They had people stand up from the decade they were at the school. I was the only one from my decade (where were all of you fellow Warriors my age?!) The entire school was open and most of the teachers were there. Sadly, some of them even remembered Brig! I saw the old Assistant Principal who threw me and my friends out of a school play (not even during school hours!) so we hid in the bathroom stalls and she pounded on them until they came open. I told Kenz about that incident...and told her never to be a trouble maker :) She just laughed and continued to point out Ms. Cannon every time we saw her in the halls!

We walked through the entire school and were very impressed with what they'd done. Unfortunately it is nothing like it was, but incredibly nice.

They were able to save the original corner stone.
Lance thought I was really strange for wanting to go to this, but I did a lot in Jr High and wanted to reminisc. Those were the first years I really got involved in things. I was a student body officer, Warrior of the Month, involved in chiors and plays and had great friends surrounding me all the time. Many people hated Jr. High, I really liked it...and it was really fun to walk around the new school. And to go with Kenz who is going there next year. I am so old.

Mmmmm....M&Ms

M&Ms are my favorite thing this week...actually my favorite thing always. I love all the flavors, but I'm partial to peanut and almond. However, last week Lance and I saw something new and had to give it a try.

Coconut! I am not a huge fan of coconut itself, but like the flavor and thought these were really good! Give them a try, but only if you're prepared to love them, then have M&M discontinue them like the caramel ones :)

What happens in Vegas...ends up on the blog!

Ahh, the memories of the time Sheila, Lance and I went to Las Vegas with our bodygaurd, uh, I mean Brig!

They say a picture paints a thousand words...I think this one paints like a million! Generally I hate these types of pictures they take and try to get you to buy at the end of the show, but when we saw this one, we had to have it! The three of us are having a great time while Brig does his own thing in the corner of the picture. Now, for those of you who know Brig, know that he's not always a fun hater...just most of the time :) Just kidding Brig.

Either way, I love this picture. And even though it's almost two years old it's still my favorite thing Friday!

Hoops and Yoyo

Hoops and Yoyo are my favorite thing this week. They are absolutely hilarious and I love them! Sarah and I have been sending electronic Hoops and Yoyo cards for years and they still make me laugh every time. Lance has given me a couple of their paper cards with sound this year and I open them, laugh, open them, laugh, over and over. They are so great!

Just the Two of Us

Over Memorial Day weekend, Lance and I played in a doubles Volleyball tournament. Lance asked if I wanted to play awhile back and I immediately responded "no". He is really good and I told him in doubles, I would just bring him down and he wouldn't have any fun. He said it didn't matter and he really wanted to play with me. So, the day began at Wheeler Farm at 8:30 am.

The set-up. Everyone knows tournaments can be all day so they come prepared. Dale and Kristy brought their canopy...and half their house. I kid you not.
This was after our first match which we split with the team. Not bad for my first time playing doubles.
Dale and KristyThere were a ton of people there and a lot of matches going on at the same time. Our division had about 25 teams in it.
We had a really difficult pool, but almost all the teams split all the matches. We won one outright and tied for first in our division. We then went to the finals and ended up losing to the team who won it all. In my book, that's coming in 2nd! We didn't end up leaving until 6:00 and were sunburned and exhausted! We played for about 3 1/2 hours straight near the end and it was a killer! We really had a good time though and were impressed with our ability to play doubles. So, there will be more doubles tournaments for us this summer.
